President Benigno S. Aquino III joined the local officials and residents of Cebu province in a gathering of support for the Liberal Party (LP) candidates held at the Secretary Cerge M. Remonde Sports and Cultural Center.

In his remarks, the President cited some of the administration’s projects in Cebu such as the rising number of households benefiting from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino (4Ps) program wherein 7.7 million individuals are already out of the poverty line.

He mentioned the 7,889 classrooms in Cebu that the government had already built, as well as other projects like the rehabilitation of the Argao Communal Irrigation System, the 100% electrification of sitios, the construction of the new airport passenger terminal building, the Mactan Island Circumferential Road and Sergio Osmeña Boulevard. Furthermore, he reported the success of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in the province wherein 42 percent of its students are now employed.

As a parting message, President Aquino thanked the LP supporters and reminded them that the success of the government’s “Daang Matuwid” platform was due to the support of the people, and without them, the programs would not have been made possible.
