After paying his respects to the 44 members of the Philippine National Police – Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) unit that were killed in action in Maguindanao, President Benigno S. Aquino III condoled each of the SAF troopers’ bereaved families in a meeting that lasted for about 12 hours.

The Commander-in-Chief showed his sincerest support to the families by talking to them one by one inside the St. Joseph Parish Chapel. Aside from financial aid, the government will extend several assistance to the families and relatives of the fallen such as educational support for the children and siblings left behind, livelihood assistance for the widows, housing assistance, and medical assistance.
