President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. directed the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to accelerate the completion of critical infrastructure projects, ensuring the public benefits from timely and efficient government services.

In a meeting with key Cabinet members at Malacañan Palace, the President emphasized the need to prioritize initiatives that have a tangible impact on people’s lives, especially in light of significant budget reductions for the DPWH’s programs, activities and projects (PAPs) under the 2025 General Appropriations Act (GAA).

The President also instructed the Agency to prioritize project maintenance, conduct feasibility studies and address right-of-way issues to streamline project execution.

The 2025 GAA includes funding cuts for several DPWH initiatives, including payments for right-of-way (ROW), pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, and key infrastructure programs such as the Bridge Program, Network Development Program, and Tourism Road Infrastructure Program.
