President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. instructed Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Ivan John Uy to prioritize the Common Tower Program (CTP) to enhance government service delivery during a meeting at Malacañan Palace.
The President emphasized the need to focus on the CTP to better serve the public. Under the Marcos Administration, the number of government systems has grown from about 250 to 1,277 — significantly enhancing service efficiency through digitalization.
Secretary Uy assured the President of uninterrupted operations for renewing 15,715 Free Wi-Fi access point sites with a budget of PhP6 billion. This includes potential funding of PhP1.5 billion for new sites and other initiatives, such as the CTP, which is expected to benefit at least 404,600 direct beneficiaries and an estimated 2,023,000 indirect beneficiaries.
