President Rodrigo Roa Duterte talked with the prime movers of Samahan ng mga Ex-Detainees Laban sa mga Detensyon at Aresto (SELDA) in Malacañan Palace.

Among those who joined the meeting were former Bayan Muna Representative Saturnino Ocampo, SELDA Chairperson Amaryllis Hilao-Enriquez, Vice-Chairperson Bonifacio Ilagan, National Coordinator Dionito Cabanillas, Campaigns Officer Anthony Thaddeus Ifurung, CaMaNaVa Chapter Chairperson Trinidad Herrera, CaMaNaVa Chapter Secretary General Rosemarie Bartolome, former SELDA Secretary General and currently the Karapatan Deputy Secretary General Roneo Clamor, and Danilo dela Fuente.

During the meeting, President Duterte was accompanied by Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Benjamin Diokno, Finance (DOF) Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Silvestre Bello III, and Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.

SELDA is an organization of political detainees and former political prisoners who work for the release and humane treatment of those who are still in detention, and for the legislative actions for the rehabilitation and indemnification of these detainees. They are also rallying resources for the political prisoners and their respective families.

The advocates, together with the President, raised their fists in a photo opportunity after the meeting.
