President Rodrigo Roa Duterte met with Cebuano-Chinese businessman Peter Lim, one of the alleged top drug lords in the triad involved in illegal drug operations in the country.

During their meeting, President Duterte told Mr. Lim to go to an investigating agency and have his case probed, to prove that he is not the “Peter Lim” identified as the Visayan member of the drug triad.

“We want to help you…help us clear you,” said the President.

In response, Mr. Lim expressed his willingness to help the administration in combatting illegal drug trade and to clear his name.

“I could clear up everything because my family is really in deep problem now in Cebu…In any way I will help, in all my ways I can,” Mr. Lim replied.

In the course of the discussion, the President also mentioned government employees who have been skipping their duties during work hours, and made it clear that anyone can approach him on this matter and he will take action immediately.

“I do not want people going back and forth, this is the procedure,” said President Duterte when he reiterated his stance on making government transactions more convenient to the people, and added that he will require public offices to have logbooks in every transaction.
