President Benigno S. Aquino III rallied the local leaders and residents of Sta. Rosa, Laguna to continue the fight in safeguarding Daang Matuwid while highlighting several government programs and projects in Laguna.

Among those mentioned were several road infrastructure projects such as the Lipa-Alaminos Road expansion project and the Manila South Road widening project. Also cited were the Sta. Rosa-Ulat-Tagaytay Road and San Pedro Bridge that will be converted into four lanes this year.

Other notable major infrastructure projects mentioned include the construction of the South Luzon Expressway Toll Road 4 and the North-South Railway Project South Line. The 44.63-km Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) contract under the public-private partnership has already been awarded to the Metro Pacific Group and, in turn, the country earned PhP 27.30 billion to its coffers.

According to the President, from 2011 to 2016, Laguna received a total of PhP 12.61 billion on infrastructure project. This allocation is three times more than the budget of PhP 3.68 billion from 2005 to 2010.

Moreover, Laguna received a total of PhP 195.74 million under the Health Facilities Enhancement Program coursed through in several hospitals, rural health units and urban health centers, as well as barangay health stations.

PhilHealth beneficiaries in Laguna have reached 2.59 million out of the 93 million total beneficiaries around the country, while the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) revealed that a total of 44,550 households in Laguna, out of the 4.6 million households nationwide, are enrolled under the program.
