President Benigno S. Aquino III met with the local leaders and the community of Dasmarinas, Cavite in a gathering held at the National High School of Dasmariñas.
In his speech, President Aquino said that it is the people who made the positive changes in the country possible and it is also the people who can continue those changes. He explained that it is important for the various reforms that the government are implementing to be continued and that the responsibility lies on the people.
He laid down the accomplishments of his administration in different sectors such as the inauguration of the of the Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway or MCX, which is the first Public-Private Partnership project that he approved, the on-going 44.63-kilometer Cavite-Laguna Expressway or CALAX and other mass transport system such as LRT Line 1 South extension project that stretches from Baclaran to Bacoor, Cavite and LRT Line 6 project that connects Bacoor to Dasmariñas, which the government is currently working on.
The President added that under his administration, the government has constructed 49 farm-to-market roads and 59 irrigation projects that will strengthen the agriculture sector. On education, President Aquino ensured the implementation of the K-12 program and guaranteed that before he steps down from the office, 185,000 additional classrooms will be constructed.
Lastly, President Aquino cited the expanded scope of PhilHealth, and mentioned the increase in the number of beneficiaries of the Conditional Cash Transfer or CCT program and the growing number of TESDA graduates.
