Catarman, Northern Samar

Fresh from his successful trip to Brunei for the 22nd Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit, President Aquino visited the municipality of Catarman in Northern Samar to fulfill his administration’s mission of bringing the government closer to the people and personally meet the community to relay to them the good news that the country is experiencing.

In his speech, the President said that government projects will easily be implemented if the local government is in line with the goal of the national government, giving as an example the recent NEDA board approved construction of the Samar Pacific Coastal Road which will connect Northern and Southern Samar. President Aquino also added that the rehabilitation of the 220 kilometer Samar Road is on its way. Furthermore, he said that the country has reached its present status because of the people who sacrificed and supported the government in its thrive for a more progressive country.

Catarman, located at the northern part of Samar, is the capital of the province considered as its commercial, educational, political and financial center.
