President Rodrigo Roa Duterte welcomed the Ambassador of China to the Philippines, H.E. Zhao Jianhua, in a meeting at the Presidential Guest House in Panacan, Davao City.

Ambassador Jianhua handed the President a letter of invitation for a trip to China and presented two paintings as a birthday gift for the Chief Executive. The first painting is a portrait of a rooster while the second painting is a family portrait of the President together with his common-law wife, Cielito Avanceña, and daughter Veronica Duterte.

The Chinese envoy was accompanied by Mr. Yu Jun, Director for Political Section of the Embassy of China in the Philippines.

On the Phillippines side, President Duterte was joined by Foreign Affairs (DFA) Acting Secretary Enrique Manalo, DFA-Asia and Pacific Affairs (ASPAC) Executive Director Evangeling Ong Jimenez-Ducrocq.
