Study Room, Malacañan Palace

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte met with the GMR Megawide Cebu Airport Corporation (GMCAC) executives led by its President, Manuel Louie Ferrer, at the Study Room of Malacañang.

The group presented to the President a plaque from the Center for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA) – Center for Aviation in Singapore naming the Mactan Cebu International Airport (MCIA) as the “Asia Pacific Regional Airport of the Year”.

GMR Group is a fast-growing infrastructure enterprise headquartered in Bangalore, India. In partnership with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and Megawide Constructions, a consortium has been made through a concession agreement to operate and develop the MCIA for a period of 25 years, hence the creation of GMCAC. This includes the renovation of the said airport’s existing Terminal 1 and the construction of a brand new Terminal 2.

Also present during the meeting is DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade.
