President Benigno S. Aquino III met with Commission on Elections Chairman Sixto Brillantes, Commissioner Christian Robert Lim, OIC Regional Governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao(ARMM) Mujiv Hataman and some members of his Cabinet to discuss the plans for the national registration in the ARMM.

The panel discussed plans in starting the national registration in the ARMM and the scrapping of the  old voters’ registration list in some provinces. They plan to do away with the manual operations and apply the Biometrics process. It was raised that with such process, the COMELEC may incur expenses of up to P430 million, an amount that was agreeable to the President and the Department of Budget and Management. The panel hopes to ensure a cleaner and legitimate national registration in the ARMM by December 2012.
