President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. convened with top officials of the Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) to discuss the country’s fertilizer importation requirements to support local production of agricultural goods.

Among the topics discussed include the opening of the PITC’s credit line facility with Landbank of the Philippines, fertilizer developments and importation requirements for 2023, and the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the DA and PITC.

DTI Secretary Alfredo E. Pascual, PITC President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Undersecretary Emmie Liza Perez-Chiong, DA Undersecretary Domingo Panganiban, DTI Undersecretary Herminio C. Bagro III, and PITC Monetary Board Member V. Bruce Tolentino attended the said meeting.
