President Rodrigo Roa Duterte led the mass oath taking of the newly appointed and league elected officials from different government departments across the country in a ceremony at the Rizal Hall, Malacañan Palace.

Around 200 newly appointed officials were present during the ceremony that aimed to bestow the duties and responsibilities that come with their position as servants of the Filipino people.

In his speech, President Duterte reminisced the events that led to his decision to run for the Presidency and emphasized the need for the government officials to live simply, saying that they owe it to the Filipino people to serve. “We need somebody to sit there with a passion na gumaling ang bayan,” the President stressed.

He also discussed the ongoing situation in Marawi City and the illegal drug problem in the country.
