President Benigno S. Aquino III commemorated the 80th birth anniversary of his father, the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino, Jr., with a mass held at the tomb of his parents at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City.

The President was joined by his sisters, Maria Elena “Ballsy” Aquino-Cruz, Victoria Elisa “Viel” Aquino-Dee and Kris Aquino.

In a reflection entitled “Eightieth Birth Anniversary of Ninoy Aquino Remembered” written by Ninoy’s grandson and the President’s nephew, Francis Joseph Aquino-Dee, he says: “On this day, 80 years ago, a brave man was born.  So brave was my lolo that he leaped into war at 17, forged a peace at 21, became the country’s youngest mayor at 22 and youngest senator at 35.”
