4 June 2015
President Benigno S. Aquino III met with the Japanese Association Heads at the Hotel New Otani in Japan on the third day of his State Visit.
In his statement, the President relayed the possible investments that will enter the Philippines particularly in the manufacturing sector, as well as the expansion of other companies such as Mitsubishi that is geared up with a new production plant which can produce up to 50,000 units per year. Another Japanese company that shares their optimism is Tsuineishi, which is engaged in shipbuilding.
Furthermore, the President said that the core of the Philippines’ success is the operationalization of a fundamental principle: “to make government an enabler; to reform the system to better serve our countrymen and those willing to bet on them; and to jumpstart a virtuous cycle of confidence that leads to expansion, and ultimately redounds to our shared advancement.”
