The Philippine National Police (PNP) officially launches the nationwide 911 emergency hotline during the 24th Police Community Relations Group (PCRG) anniversary held at the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

Initially implemented in Davao City during the mayoral stint of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, the 911 emergency hotline aims to combat crime and respond to people in need of immediate assistance.

Another hotline institutionalized was the ‘8888’ citizen hotline solely devoted for complaints on corruption, underperforming employees, and red tape in the government.

Both hotlines are accessible to all Filipinos for 24 hours.

Present during the launch were PNP Director General Ronald ‘Bato’ Dela Rosa and Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar.
