Recognizing the invaluable contributions of the Philippine film industry to the country’s arts and culture, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and First Lady Louise Araneta Marcos hosted the fifth Konsyerto sa Palasyo: ‘Para sa Pelikulang Pilipino’ at the Kalayaan Grounds in Malacañang.
The event was graced by key personalities, including celebrated actors, directors and producers who continue to pave the way to bring the Philippines’ film industry into the global spotlight.
The night featured songs from blockbuster hit movies of the past, accompanied by excerpts from beloved Filipino films, making the evening truly nostalgic as the crowd celebrated both the golden age of Filipino cinema and the enduring spirit of today’s Philippine filmmaking.
This celebration coincides with the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) showcasing 10 films: ‘And the Breadwinner Is…,’ ‘Green Bones,’ ‘Isang Himala,’ ‘The Kingdom,’ ‘Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital,’ ‘Espantaho,’ ‘Hold Me Close,’ ‘My Future You,’ ‘Topakk’ and ‘Uninvited.’
The event was spearheaded by the Office of the President (OP) in collaboration with Radio Television Malacañang (RTVM), the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
