President Benigno S. Aquino III served as keynote speaker in a business forum organized by the Mouvement des Entreprises de France (MEDEF) International and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and held at the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand Hotel in Paris.

In his speech, President Aquino invited all investors and members the Philippine and French business delegation to be part of the Philippine “renaissance”, a word he used to describe the state of the country’s economy now.

“Yours is a matured and developed country, while ours has just recently been gaining momentum towards development. There is a natural synergy between our requirements and aspirations, and your strengths and capabilities. Together, let us maximize the opportunities before us, for the mutual benefit of our peoples,” the President said.

According to the Chief Executive, France and the Philippines have to open a more vibrant chapter in commercial relations to expand on the people-to-people contacts that both countries currently enjoy.

“Our administration’s first message to the world was that “the Philippines is once again open for business” and we have worked tirelessly to show that our country is truly worthy of your consideration,” he added.
