Secretary Frederick Go, Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs, underscores the visit of Prime Minister Christopher Luxon as ‘very significant’ for it signals the start of productive ties between the Philippines and New Zealand in terms of strengthening partnership on a wide range of cooperation, including the economy and investment.

In an interview with RTVM, Secretary Go cites New Zealand as a top trading partner and hopes to increase that level of partnership by inviting investors to explore more of the Philippines’ rich potentials when it comes to business process outsourcing (BPO), renewable energy, food production and technology sector, among others.

“This visit of the Prime Minister is very significant because it sends a signal to the New Zealand business community that the relationship between the Philippines and New Zealand is only going to get better and better, and as mentioned by Prime Minister Luxon in his speech, the relationship is only expected to get even warmer over the next years,” the Secretary conveys.

Secretary Go is designated as the Cabinet-Secretary-in-Attendance during the Official Visit of Prime Minister Luxon to the Philippines from 18-20 April 2024.
