Mayor Dov Zur of Rishon LeZion, also known as the ‘City of Firsts,’ talks on the history of the establishment of the Open Doors Monument in the municipality.

The Open Doors Monument serves as a testament of the open door policy of former Philippine Commonwealth President Manuel L. Quezon in the late 1930s that allowed Jews, who were fleeing the Holocaust in Europe, to enter the Philippines as their safe haven.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte is set to take a look at the monument during his Official Visit to the State of Israel.
