Mr Angelito Banal or “Lito” (as he prefers to be called) is the Chairman of the New Zealand Philippines Business Council (NZPBC) which aims to promote an increased awareness in the New Zealand business sector of the growing number of Filipino entrepreneurs and professionals in New Zealand. The NZPBC also aims to enhance the profile of the Filipino migrant and encourage B2B synergy and ultimately, increased bilateral trade between the Philippines and New Zealand. NZPBC works in partnership with the Philippine Embassy in Wellington in promoting its economic diplomacy in New Zealand. Its membership comprise of some 50 corporate, the majority of which are SME’s, and associate members selected through a qualification process. The group’s goal is to maintain a manageable number of members that are dedicated and committed to the aims and objectives of the NZPBC.

He earned his Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE ) from Mapua Institute of Technology (MIT) and was born in 1962 in Floridablanca, Pampanga. Lito came to New Zealand in March 1988. He is married to Sharon Diaz from Angeles City and they have two children, Alessandra Denise and Ethan Michael.
