Philippine Ambassador to Japan

Her Excellency Mylene Garcia-Albano, Ambassador of the Philippines to Japan, shares the significance of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Working Visit to Osaka, primarily aimed at furthering bilateral relations, enhancing cultural ties and engaging with Japanese investors for the country’s economic development.
In an interview with RTVM, the Ambassador says that President Marcos Jr. would like to show his appreciation to all those who worked together in producing the Philippine Pavilion at the World Expo Osaka 2025, a crowd favorite which has welcomed over 300,000 visitors in just two (2) months.
The Filipino envoy describes relations between the Philippines and Japan as robust, with many sectors being active as a result of an exchange of high-level visits from both countries in recent months and years. These include security relations, official development assistance (ODA), infrastructure and transportation areas, to name a few.
“In fact, recently, the Prime Minister of Japan has called our relationship a near alliance na nga po ang kanilang term that they use for our very close relations. So, we’re quite happy with that,” Ambassador Mylene Garcia-Albano emphasizes in the interview.
