Residents of Bacoor City express their heartfelt gratitude to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. for bringing affordable rice to the community through the ‘Benteng Bigas, Meron Na!’ Program at the Zapote Public Market in Cavite on July 2, 2025.

“Napakalaking tulong po nito sa akin dahil ako po ay bumibili ng maintenance ko. ‘Yung sosobra dito na pambili namin ng araw-araw na bigas, e maidadagdag ko na sa pambili ng aking maintenance… Salamat po kay Pangulong Marcos at naglagay siya ng ganitong murang bigas para sa amin na mahihirap. Sa Bagong Pilipinas po, wala ng Pilipinong magugutom,” says Evelyn Gervacio, one of the beneficiaries eligible to buy the PhP20/kilo rice, during an interview with RTVM.

The PhP20/kilo Rice Project reflects the Administration’s whole-of-government approach, with the Department of Agriculture (DA), National Food Authority (NFA), Food Terminal, Inc. (FTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and local government units (LGUs) collaborating to deliver meaningful and people-centered support to communities across the country.

Other beneficiaries present during the Program’s launch in Bacoor City also express that it serves a great purpose in easing their daily expenses, especially for senior citizens, solo parents and low-income households struggling with the rising cost of living.
