From the Philippines to India, more of our ‘kababayans’ have consistently championed the Filipino brand of excellence by being ambassadors of strength, resilience, artistry and cultural pride in Bengaluru.
Michelle Soliman is a 28-year-old Filipina artist behind Miday Mandala Art. Born in Taguig City, she moved to Bengaluru, India not only to find a home but also to pursue her passion for art as a career.
Soliman’s talent for mandala art has opened doors for her to influence many art collectors and art enthusiasts around the world. Through her artistic spirit and passion, she looks forward to creating more intricate art pieces that blend Indian and Filipino culture, and hopes to inspire artists to explore their creativity and mindfulness through art.
“Para sa akin, ang bagong Pilipino ay patuloy na ibinabandera ang galing ng mga Pinoy sa kahit anong panig ng mundo,” she said.
Donna May Roces-Badimala is no stranger to juggling multiple jobs. From working in healthcare services in the Philippines to hospitality management in the Middle East, she has finally settled in India with her own family and currently works as an Information Technology (IT) Recruiter for a U.S.-based company.
For Roces-Badimala, success is not measured by job titles or achievements but by the resilience, adaptability and determination everyone shows to overcome life’s toughest hardships. She hopes to inspire more Filipinos worldwide to keep moving forward despite uncertainties and challenges.
“If you overcome or go through everything, you are successful. Iyon ‘yung totoong meaning ng success. Doon lalabas ‘yung never sumuko ang mga Pilipino. Never silang sumuko. Wala pa akong kilalang Pilipino na sumuko,” she stressed.
