President Benigno S. Aquino III graced the 10th International Contact Center Conference and Expo at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. The two-day event has the theme “Celebrating Success, Reshaping the Future.”

In his speech, President Aquino lauded the Philippine contact center industry for its massive contribution to the country’s economy and to the life of Filipinos.

“Back in the year 2000, the contact center industry’s total revenues were pegged at 20 million dollars, with only around 2,400 people employed. These numbers rose at a blistering pace. By 2014, revenues had increased to 11.7 billion dollars, and total employment was at 686,000 employees,” he added.

The President also encouraged the BPO industry to listen, talk to one another, share knowledge and ultimately navigate the contact center industry in the Philippines towards unprecedented success.

“If we continue to display the values of hard work, creativity, and innovation, whether in our everyday work places or in events such as this, then we can continue the success of this sector for decades to come,” President Aquino said.

Meanwhile, Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP) President Louie Benedict C. Hernandez also thanked the President for the continuous support and partnership of the administration with CCAP.

“As we now architect our industry roadmap for the future, I am most confident, that our partnership and collaboration will be there, perhaps even deepen,” Mr. Hernandez said.
