President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally interacted with teachers and students, checking on their learning conditions and listening to their experiences, when he inspected the Temporary Learning Spaces (TLS) at Barangay Sagonsongan in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.
The President checked the newly installed Starlink internet unit that he donated to the TLS to support digital learning. He also tested the internet connection inside one of the classrooms to ensure its reliability and speed for online teaching and learning.
He also looked at the school bags and supplies earlier distributed by the Office of the President (OP). These resources are meant to support the learners’ return to school and ease the challenges faced by families still recovering from the 2017 Marawi siege.
The TLS, established shortly after the siege, serves as a temporary education facility for students from five (5) schools whose original campuses were damaged or remain inaccessible. It is located on the former site of the Sagonsongan Public Market and is adjacent to temporary shelter units still housing displaced families.
