President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. emphasized the government’s commitment to modernizing agriculture and improving farmers’ livelihoods during his visit to the advanced Rice Processing System II (RPS II) at Barangay Ipil in Echague, Isabela.

Launched under the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program, the facility is designed to boost rice production in Isabela. It features a multi-stage rice mill capable of processing three (3) tons per hour and five (5) recirculating dryers with a 12-ton capacity each, aimed at enhancing rice production and postharvest processes in the Province.

RPS II seeks to reduce production costs and minimize postharvest losses, directly benefiting the farmers. By improving efficiency, the facility is expected to increase farmers’ incomes and ensure a more stable rice supply for consumers.

President Marcos Jr.’s visit underscored the vital role of mechanization and modernization in securing the nation’s food supply and sustaining the agricultural sector’s growth amid rising challenges.
