President Rodrigo Roa Duterte assured the public of his administration’s commitment in providing infrastructure development throughout the country as he led the inspection of the PhP6.5 billion North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Harbor Link Circumferential Road 3 (C3) – R10 Section in Caloocan City.
The 2.6-kilometer C3-R10 Section, which links C3 Road in Caloocan City to Radica Road 10 in Navotas City, shall be connected to the 5.65-kilometer NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 that traverses Karuhatan in Valenzuela City, Governor Pascual Avenue in Malabon City and 5th Avenue in Caloocan City.
In his speech, President Duterte said that the completion of the project shall pave way for the productive capacity of the economy, create more jobs and strengthen the Philippines’ investment climate for sustainable growth.
He recognized the efforts of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the NLEX Corporation for the timely and efficient completion of the project.
“As we pursue the objectives of the Build, Build, Build Program, I ask everyone to do their part in our shared task of nation-building. We need to work together to ensure that the strides we have made and the benefits of all our development efforts will be felt by all Filipinos. No one should be left behind or forgotten on the path to progress,” the Chief Executive said.
As part of the efforts to help decongest traffic in Metro Manila, the project is expected to reduce travel time from the Port Area in Manila to NLEX in 10 minutes, and is projected to benefit the transport logistics industry. It is expected to benefit more than 30,000 motorists every day in the hopes of decongesting the traffic situation in Metro Manila.
