President Benigno S. Aquino III led the inspection of major passenger terminals around Metro Manila to ensure the safety and convenience of those who are travelling to the provinces in time for the Lenten season.

Together with Transportation and Communications Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya, the President first went to Pier 12 in North Harbor. He toured the facilities of Philippine Span Asia Carrier Corp. (PSACC) and inspected their ticketing booths, check-in counter, help desks, X-ray machine, final security check section and the passengers’ pre-boarding area. He boarded the MV Princess of the South that’s bound for Cebu and checked the situation of the passengers.

After the inspection in Pier 12, the President and his party went to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminals 3 and 4. He was briefed by General Manager Jose Angel Honrado on the developments being made on the airports. He even inspected the restrooms at NAIA 3 to make sure that the paying passengers find it more comfortable in using a public toilet.

The President then proceeded to the Victory Liner Terminal in Pasay City where he was met by MMDA Chairman Francis Tolentino. While inspecting the flow of commuters inside the bus terminal, he was also briefed by Sec. Jun Abaya on the status of operations and arrangements made for the Holy Week. According to PNP Chief Dir. Gen. Allan Purisima, the Philippine National Police is on heightened alert to ensure the safety of the riding public.
