EDSA Kamuning, Quezon City
01 April 2015
President Benigno S. Aquino III ended his inspection of the major passenger terminals at JAM Liner Bus Terminal in EDSA Kamuning, Quezon City. The inspection was made to ensure the safety and convenience of the passengers traveling to different provinces in time for the Lenten season.
Together with Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya and Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Chairman Winston Ginez, President Aquino inspected a bus unit installed with Global Positioning System (GPS). He also inspected another bus unit and had a short conversation with some passengers.
Afterwards, President Aquino proceeded to the waiting area and inspected the status of the operations and arrangements made for the Holy Week.
The JAM Liner is the first in the Philippines to install a GPS tracker on their buses. It has multiple screen displays that give helpful information to the passengers such as the bus’ current location, next stop, and nearby establishments. The system also provides audible announcements and up-to-date news flashes on the screen from time to time.
