President Rodrigo Roa Duterte listened to an information brief by officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center (AFPMC) and discussed the procurement of necessary equipment and infrastructures in a meeting at the AFPMC Administration Building in Barangay Piñahan, Quezon City.

BGen. Joseph M. Acosta, Commander of the AFPMC, brought up the purchasing of four new equipment costing around PhP 214 million which includes an MRI, a Cardiac Cath Lab, and others. Retrofitting an old building at the AFPMC was also talked about, with BGen. Acosta saying that a new building would cost about PhP 327 million while a retrofit would cost PhP 150 million.

President Duterte, accompanied by Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Benjamin Diokno, gave his approval to purchase the four equipment plus the construction of a new building and the retrofitting of the old one for the AFPMC.

Also present at the meeting are Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Secretary Christopher Go, Acting National Defense (DND) Secretary Ricardo David, Jr. and other officers from the AFP and the AFPMC.
