President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the inspection of the newly inaugurated Rice Processing System (RPS) II Facility and the ceremonial turnover of various farm machinery, underscoring the Administration’s commitment to advancing the country’s agricultural sector and improving the livelihood of Filipino farmers.
During a program held at the Science City of Muñoz in Nueva Ecija, the President led the distribution of over PhP31 million worth of farm machinery to 17 farmers’ cooperatives and associations (FCAs). These included one (1) four-wheel tractor with complete implements, 16 rice combine harvesters (RCHs) and one (1) cultivator.
The Chief Executive, together with key officials from the Department of Agriculture (DA) and the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech), toured the facility to assess the components of RPS II. It features two (2) units of recirculating dryers — each with a 12-ton per batch capacity and sustainably powered by rice hulls as biomass — as well as a multi-stage rice mill capable of processing two (2) to three (3) tons per hour.
Furthermore, President Marcos Jr. interacted with farmers and FCA leaders who are set to directly benefit from the RPS II Facility.
This milestone event aims to deliver broader benefits for the country’s agricultural development, including the advancement of the local agricultural machinery industry, the creation of rural employment opportunities, the promotion of mechanization technologies, enhanced crop productivity and increased income for Filipino farmers.
