“As we mark its completion, we show what can be achieved when we work as one — fueled by our commitment to enriching connectivity, opportunity and the brighter future we continue to create together,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. remarked as he inaugurated the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Candaba 3rd Viaduct — a fundamental part of the Administration’s efforts to improve the country’s transportation sector.

In his speech, the President highlighted the project as a realization of the government’s collective vision for resilience and progress, as well as the fulfillment of the promise to make travel safer, faster and more reliable for all Filipinos.

“For nearly five decades, this bridge has carried the aspirations of countless Filipinos — workers, farmers, entrepreneurs, businessmen, families, and bringing them closer to their destinations, to their loved ones and to their work,” he said.

“Standing as a testament to this Administration’s commitment to the ‘Build Better More’ program, this also shows that we are building the foundation to nurture the development of our countryside,” he added.

The NLEX Candaba 3rd Viaduct is a five-kilometer-long infrastructure wherein construction began in June 2023, linking the Provinces of Bulacan and Pampanga. It is an essential addition to the NLEX Network as it acts as the main gateway and vital link of the National Capital Region (NCR) to Central and Northern Luzon.

It is also seen to improve the country’s transportation infrastructure, driving progress and boosting the national economy as it provides critical support for greater mobility for commuters, tourists and businesses across regions.

“Built to withstand the challenges of nature and the demands of our time, it is poised to serve our people for decades, offering them not only convenience but also security as they traverse this route,” he stressed.

Likewise, the Chief Executive conveyed his sincerest gratitude to government agencies involved in the project, particularly the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB), for constantly adhering to measures that will ensure smoother travel and ease of congestion.

“Let us build infrastructure projects with future challenges in mind. Remain focused on pursuing initiatives that uplift lives, build communities, and most importantly, meet the needs of the future that we hope to build for our children and their children,” President Marcos Jr. concluded in his speech.
