“Improved physical connectivity will always be a vital facet of our development efforts, as outlined in this Administration’s Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028 and the Eight-Point Socioeconomic Agenda,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. underscored as he vowed to strengthen the government’s commitment in improving the country’s infrastructure sector during the inauguration of the Improving Growth Corridors in Mindanao Road Sector Project (IGCMRSP) in Zamboanga Sibugay.
Together with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the President formally opened three (3) core projects of the IGCMRSP comprising a total road length of 69.07 kilometers that included bridges and roads designed to strengthen resilience against climate change in the Zamboanga Peninsula.
Upon completion, the project is expected to support economic growth and development in the Western Mindanao Region as it reduces travel time, provides safe and efficient travel, improves peace and order, and creates more livelihood opportunities for Mindanaoans.
“This government is more determined than ever to pursue projects that would recognize our dream of a stronger and more interconnected Philippines,” President Marcos Jr. said, pledging to build more roads, bridges, sea ports and airports all over the country.
The Chief Executive conveyed his gratitude towards government partners, including the Asian Development Bank (ADB), for the continuous support it has extended to the country for the past years.
“Thank you for being a steadfast and long-standing partner in improving our critical infrastructure. Your support has been instrumental in propelling our nation forward on the path of development,” he stated.
