President Rodrigo Roa Duterte unveiled the marker of the Chen Yi Agventures Rice Processing Complex (CYA-RPC) during its inauguration at Barangay Mudburon in the Municipality of Alangalang, Leyte.
“This project is a testament of our commitment to find more ways to actively respond to the various problems and challenges confronting the agricultural industry,” President Duterte said.
The Chief Executive urged the CYA-RPC management and the local government of Leyte to continue to take further strides in advancing the rice industry of the country towards more progressive and modern practices. He also expressed his hopes for the CYA to continually collaborate with the government in helping the agriculture sector of the Philippines by providing the farmers with the equipment and technical assistance they need to produce high quality rice.
With poverty alleviation and Build Build Build as their main battle cry, the management of the rice processing complex – led by CYA President Rachel Renucci-Tan and her husband, CYA Management Consultant Francois Patrick Renucci – stressed that the facility rises with the province of Leyte from the ravages of Typhoon Yolanda to uplift the lives of rice farmers and provide world-class quality rice for the Filipino people.
“Our profits depend on our farmers increasing their income. Our profits depend on producing world-class rice. No shortcuts. We invested what we had in the technology, the technology to produce white rice that is delicious, white rice that is as healthy as brown rice, white rice that is chemical free, white rice that is pest free,” CYA President Renucci-Tan said.
Deemed as the most technologically advanced rice processing complex in Southeast Asia and the largest in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, the CYA-RPC is a two-hectare complex that uses temperature-controlled silos with a capacity of 6,000MT for Phase I alone, keeping the dried palay or rice grains in a freshly harvested condition for over one year. The innovative technology of the facility from drying, storage, milling and packaging also ensures the Renucci Rice to be pest and contamination free.
