Isa itong simbolo ng mabilis, maayos at pinagsama-samang serbisyo para sa ating mga OFWs,” the President said in his speech as the Center was launched to centralize full-cycle support and assistance. This includes services that begin from the OFWs’ departure from the country, continue throughout their overseas employment, and extend to their return and reintegration with families and loved ones. Other major frontline services include the Balik-Manggagawa processing, reintegration support services, legal assistance and other necessary support through the DMW AKSYON Fund.
The Center also consolidates services from key national government agencies, including the Social Security System (SSS), PAG-IBIG Fund, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).
The Chief Executive cited other measures being implemented by the government to enhance service delivery through digital platforms, such as the eGov PH mobile application that allows users to access various government services, including birth certificates and driver’s licenses, directly from their smartphones.
“Sa ating masisipag at matatapang na OFWs, tandaan ninyo: Nandito ang inyong gobyerno para sa inyo,” he conveyed, reaffirming the Administration’s commitment to strengthening protection, growth and development for OFWs and their families.
“Patuloy tayong magtutulungan upang buuin ang isang Bagong Pilipinas. Sama-sama nating itaguyod ang kinabukasang puno ng pag-asa, pag-unlad at pagkakaisa,” the President added.
A standout feature of the new Center is the Migrant’s Brew, a café offering free coffee and snacks to visiting OFWs and their families. This is the 23rd Migrant’s Brew outlet nationwide and the fifth in Metro Manila. Since its launch in November 2022 at the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) office in Pasay City, the café has served over 600,000 OFWs, providing a welcoming space upon their return.
Through a Usufruct Agreement, the Bagong Pilipinas OFW AKSYON Center expands the DMW’s operations by utilizing additional space in the former Landbank Building. This move allows the Department to better accommodate its growing workforce and deliver more efficient and streamlined services to the migrant sector.
