President Benigno S. Aquino III led the inauguration of the 105 meters long Himoga-an Bridge and the 3.418 kilometers Access Road that connects the cities of Sagay and Cadiz in the province of Negros Occidental.
In his speech, President Aquino lauded the people of Sagay City for the positive outcome of the project that made transportation in the area easier, saying that this is an evident strategy towards achieving the development of infrastructure in Negros Occidental.
Moreover, he expressed his gratitude to the local government units (LGUs), especially to the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), for the support they showed to the city. According to him, this proves that no matter how big their plans are, it can be achieved through constant unity.
The construction of the Himoga-an Bridge and Access Road started on October 2011. It underwent three construction phases and was completed on May 9, 2014 with a total appropriation of P313 million.
