President Rodrigo Roa Duterte visited the 14 soldiers who got wounded-in-action (WIA) during their recent clash with the New People’s Army (NPA) rebels in Monkayo, Compostela Valley.

During his visit, the President honored their bravery by presenting them the Wounded Personnel Medal (WPM) and handed financial assistance. The soldiers are now recovering at the Camp Panacan Station Hospital inside the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM) Headquarters in Panacan, Davao City.

These 14 soldiers are 1Lt. Israel Damasco, Cpl. Gerald Bornazal, 2Lt. Laurence Mark Agbayani, Cpl. Judas Rebuya, PFC Ramil del Mundo, PFC Jun Rey Lagunday, PFC Cris Necesito, PFC Rey PJ Lagura, PFC Jestoni Torrefiel, PFC Ramil Laput, Cpl. Ryan Shariff Embo, Cpl. John Patrick Madriaga, PFC Neoborn Navasca, and Cpl. Federico Tabafunda, Jr.
