Presidential Peace Process Adviser Jesus Dureza, Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP) Chief Negotiator Silvestre Bello III, and the rest of the Philippine delegation meet with the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) for the fourth round of formal peace talks in the Netherlands from April 2-6, 2017 in the hopes of putting an end to the almost five-decade communist insurgency.

One of the topics to be discussed is the Comprehensive Agreement on Socio-Economic Reform (CASER), that includes matters concerning agrarian reform, rural industrialization, and foreign policy. Also serving as the centerpiece of the talks is the Bilateral Ceasefire Agreement, following the withdrawal of unilateral ceasefire orders from both parties.
