President Benigno S. Aquino III conferred the Order of Sikatuna with the rank of Gold Cross to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Singapore H.E. Veluppilla Ponnundurai Hirubalan in his farewell call in Malacañan Palace.

H.E V.P Hirubalan was given the award for his significant contributions in further strengthening and deepening the foundation of the strong relations between the Philippines and Singapore.

Present in the event were Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Undersecretary for Administration Linglingay F. Lacanlale, DFA Office of Asia and Pacific Affairs (ASPAC) Assistant Secretary Minda Calaguian-Cruz and Mrs. Mano Hirubalan.
