President Benigno S. Aquino III conferred the Order of Sikatuna with the rank of Gold Cross, Gold Distinction to outgoing Ambassador Lee Hyuk of the Republic of Korea in his farewell call at Malacañan Palace.

Ambassador Hyuk received the award for his steadfast efforts in strengthening bilateral relations through the facilitation and preparation for the active exchange of visits of top government officials, most especially the State and Official Visits of President Aquino to the Republic of Korea in 2013 and 2014, and for the envoy’s immediate assistance to the Philippines in times of natural disasters, particularly in the rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts after super Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan).

Present in the event were Foreign Affairs Secretary Albert Del Rosario, National Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas and Tourism Secretary Ramon Jimenez, Jr.
