President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. received Her Excellency Michèle Boccoz, Ambassador of the French Republic to the Philippines, as she concludes her tour of duty in a farewell call at the Study Room in Malacañan Palace.

The President expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Boccoz for her support in deepening diplomatic ties and cooperation between France and the Philippines.

Recognized as a ‘caring diplomat’ and among the first to visit Surigao Del Norte, Surigao City and Siargao in the aftermath of Typhoon Odette, she mobilized support from her country to provide immediate assistance to the affected communities.

She also helped increase the levels of cooperation between the two countries in strategic cooperation such as energy, green energy (including nuclear energy), food security and climate change issues, among others.

Prior to her assignment in the Philippines in 2021, she served as Assistant Director-General and Special Envoy of the Director-General at the World Health Organization (WHO) in Geneva from 2017 to 2020, where she took charge in strengthening health diplomacy and strategic relationships of the WHO.
