Outgoing Italian Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Massimo Roscigno, paid a farewell call to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte in Malacañan Palace.

Ambassador Roscigno was first assigned in the Philippines during the term of former President Corazon Aquino as Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Italy in Manila from 1988-1992. He came back to the country as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to the Philippines in February 2014.

Under his term as Ambassador, the Philippines and Italy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) providing a mechanism for bilateral consultations that would further strengthen relations between the two countries, especially in the areas of trade and investment.
