President Benigno S. Aquino III conferred the Order of Sikatuna with the rank of Datu to His Excellency Guy Ledoux, head of the European Union (EU) delegation to the Philippines, during the latter’s farewell call in Malacañang.

H.E. Ledoux was acknowledged for his contributions in promoting and strengthening bilateral relations between the Philippines and the EU. He was also recognized for his management of EU’s development cooperation projects in support of inclusive growth, energy security and poverty alleviation, as well as the EU’s humanitarian assistance to the victims of super Typhoon Haiyan. His efforts at enhancing people-to-people exchanges between the Philippines and the EU through tourism, culture and education were also cited.
