President Rodrigo Roa Duterte was toured aboard the Zulfiquar-class frigate Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) ‘Saif’ by officials of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Philippines and the Pakistan Navy at Pier 15, Port Area, Manila.

H.E. Aman Rashid, Pakistan Ambassador to the Philippines, Pakistan’s Defense Attaché Commodore Jawad Ahmed, and Pakistan Navy Commanding Officer Captain Shahzad Iqbal, led the welcome ceremony and tour of the frigate for President Duterte and the Philippine delegates.

During the tour, the President was given a briefing on the features and characteristics of PNS ‘Saif’ inside its wardroom and visited several parts of the ship including the bridge, operations room and the missile deck.

The President was joined in the event by Department of National Defense (DND) Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, National Security Adviser (NSA) Secretary Hermogenes Esperon, Jr., Office of the Presidential Adviser on Military Affairs (OPAMA) Undersecretary Arthur Tabaquero, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Rey Leonardo Guerrero, and other Philippine Navy (PN) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) officers.
