Dushanbe, Tajikistan
June 8, 2022

The Dushanbe Water Process formally opened in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on June 8, 2022 with Secretary Robert Borje of the Climate Change Commission (CCC) leading the Philippines’ participation.

The Philippines continues to advance key positions on water resources and services management in relevant fora to affirm the need for a stronger regional and global water framework of cooperation particularly for developing nations.

The Republic of Tajikistan, in its commitment to continue providing a platform for policy, dialogue, partnership and action, is organizing High-Level international conferences throughout the Water Action Decade with the support of the United Nations (UN). This is where the ‘Dushanbe Water Process’ is established.

The biennial conferences under the Dushanbe Water Process open opportunities for the creation of an enabling environment and platform to promote action, partnership and policy dialogue, review the implementation of the Decade of Action — a call to accelerate sustainable solutions to various world challenges ranging from poverty and gender to climate change, inequality and financial gap — and promote interlinkages and contribute to other relevant processes.
