What was once a fishing village is now the shining jewel of the State of Qatar. Unlike other conservative Arab cities in the region, the capital city of Doha is a multicultural city that is home to a number of expatriates including Filipinos.

Apart from historical sites that surround the city, the West Bay Area in Doha is an area bounded by an emerging business district, with shopping malls and impressive futuristic government buildings. The city becomes livelier at night, where an outstanding array of lights and colors adorn the streets and other facilities.

Doha also played host to important events like the 2006 Asian Games, and is now expected to receive President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on his approaching visit to the state on April 14-16, 2017.
