“Ngayong araw, nandito po tayo upang maghatid ng tulong sa ating mga Caviteño at Caviteña — mga kababayan nating labis na naapektuhan ng mga nakalipas na bagyo,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said when he led the distribution of government assistance to farmers, fisherfolk and families affected by the recent typhoons in the Province of Cavite during a program at the Tagaytay International Convention Center in Tagaytay City.
In his message, President Marcos Jr. reiterated that the Administration is intensifying its preparation and assistance for Filipinos greatly impacted by the recent Severe Tropical Storms. “Patuloy ang ating pagsusumikap maibalik sa normal ang kalagayan ng mga Caviteño at mga karatig na probinsya ng CALABARZON,” he stated.
Speaking before 4,233 beneficiaries, he reaffirmed that the key government agencies are tirelessly monitoring the typhoons and their effects to ensure swift action and prevent further devastation in the Province of Cavite.
These agencies include the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
“Inaatasan ko rin ang lahat ng ahensya at lokal na pamahalaan na maging puspusan pa sa paghahanda laban sa mga [paparating] na kalamidad pa upang maiwasan ang pinsalang dinanas natin sa mga nakalipas… Tungkulin nating ihanda ang ating bayan, pagyamanin ang mga makabagong estratehiya at siguruhing ligtas ang ating mga kababayan,” he continued.
He likewise highlighted that the government is currently improving the Cavite Industrial Area – Flood Risk Area Management Project which is expected to be completed in 2029. This project aims to prevent severe flooding in the San Juan River Basin and Maalimango Creek Drainage Area.
Moreover, the Chief Executive urged Caviteños to remain resilient and support one another through every calamity, reassuring them that the national government stands with them in their recovery.
“Sama-sama nating itaguyod ang isang maunlad at nagkakaisang Bagong Pilipinas, kung saan walang Pilipino ang naiiwan sa oras ng pangangailangan,” President Marcos Jr. ended in his message.
