Alam naman po namin ‘yun,” President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. remarked during the distribution of assistance to families affected by the recent fire in Tondo, City of Manila.

He praised the resilience of Filipinos and highlighted that despite the hardships they have faced in the past few days, they continue to smile and stay strong.

“Naiba talaga ang Pinoy. Tingnan mo, tingnan ninyo ang pinagdaanan ninyong hirap sa nakaraang ilang araw, eh nakangiti pa. Basta Pilipino nakangiti pa rin at masarap pa ‘yung marinig yung inyong sigaw,” the President said.

He acknowledged the need to rebuild homes for the displaced families, recognizing the urgency of addressing both immediate and long-term needs.

The Chief Executive discussed the immediate provisions, including food packs and cash assistance, to address the varying needs of each family.

In addition to food aid, he highlighted the provision of cash assistance to cater to individual family needs, including infant formula, maintenance medications for the elderly and other essential items that may not be covered by the food packs.

Furthermore, the President ensured that medical services would be readily available for those in need, particularly for children and the elderly through the Department of Health (DOH).
